The Tammy Faye Biopic
In the battle between spirituality and money, it's a knockout win for materialism in this director's delightfully tacky true story of the disgraced televangelist and her felon spouse. Garfield plays the greedy Jim, who declares initially, claiming divine approval for wealth. Both individuals commence profiting from the people's spiritual convictions. It's a spectacle of bad interior design, bad makeup and bad faith, however Jessica Chastain achieves to depict the character with compassion. Tuesday 14 October, 1.15am, on Film4
