A Pair of Detentions in the Aftermath of Heathrow Irritant Spray Incident

This incident caused the partial shutdown of the CTA tunnel and the T3 parking area.

An additional two individuals are now in custody related to a theft at Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals sustained injuries by what is thought to be pepper spray, according to law enforcement.

A man, 24, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area for suspected theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, authorities confirmed.

The arrests come after an investigation into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the attack, two women were robbed of their suitcases after getting out of a car park lift.

A three-year-old girl was one of the those hurt in the event. A total of five individuals went to hospital for treatment and have since been discharged.

Officers detained a man in his thirties on suspicion of robbery and assault close to the location. He has since been released pending further inquiries while inquiries continue.

Authorities were alerted at about 08:10 GMT after reports came in regarding several individuals injured by a noxious substance thought to be an irritant spray.

The attack - which police said was a standalone incident and not being treated as an act of terror - caused delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park briefly.
